Welcome! I’m so happy you’re here.
I’m here to help you because my own health journey inspired me to pursue an education so that nobody else would have to go through the same nonsense that I dealt with. Nutrition and lifestyle are often casually mentioned but largely neglected when it comes to dealing with health issues. While experiencing my own inexplicable health concerns, I visited doctors who had no answers, spent 10+ years researching, and tried thousands of dollars worth of supplements in hopes of feeling better. Some holistic practitioners offered supplements but did not educate me on why they were helpful or how I could use food to create the same effect.
Eventually, I did get better – through real food, patience, a few supportive supplements, and advice from some wise holistic practitioners who shared their knowledge through blog posts and social media. After several years, I did find a cooperative and gifted physician whose love for research outpaced my own, and I am grateful for him. But I know that not everyone has access to a doctor who is as thorough and curious as he is.
After learning so much and still wanting to know more, I decided to join the Nutritional Therapy Association’s program for Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioners. It was a 9 month program that entirely shifted the way that I approach health, in the most positive manner possible.
I now feel entirely honored to help others regain their strength and address issues that they’d been told weren’t really issues. It’s a pleasure to continually research to help clients, family, and friends on their journey back to vivacity. My own health journey has included chronic fatigue, Epstein-Barr, genetic conditions, autoimmunity, ADHD, and more. Through my own research and experience, I have grown to love nutrigenomics, the study how our food and environment impact the expression of our genes. If you mention something that sets off a lightbulb in my brain, I may send you even more questionnaires to help gather all the info possible to help you most efficiently.
My primary training is in computer science, mathematics, and education. I’ve been a high school math and programming teacher for over 15 years. While you may wonder why that’s relevant to you in your nutritional work with me, I can assure you it is. I am inherently a problem-solver with a deep desire to understand how things work. That means that I’ve taken multiple courses and pored over research papers to figure out how certain nutrients impact our bodies at the cellular level. I don’t quit until I find answers so that you can start feeling your best.
It is always a pleasure to work with clients and watch their healing trajectory. If you’d like to work with me, you can do so virtually or in person (in the Marshfield, MA area). I look forward to hearing from you.
